Basic Foundations & Life Skills

Build the skills your dog needs for everyday life This course is designed to help you create a calm, connected relationship with your dog through practical, reward-based training that fits into real life. Whether you have a young puppy, adolescent dog, rescue dog, or adult dog that missed some early training, this course focuses on the essential life skills every dog should have. Together, we work on: Attention and focus around distractions Calm behaviour in the home and in public Loose leash walking foundations Recall foundations Settling and impulse control Building confidence and communication This is not about “perfect obedience” — it’s about helping your dog learn how to make good choices and helping you understand how to guide them clearly and fairly. What you can expect If you consistently practice the exercises and apply the training in daily life, you can expect: Better communication with your dog Improved focus and responsiveness A calmer, more manageable dog More confidence when walking or handling your dog in public A stronger relationship built on trust and cooperation Training is a process, not a quick fix, but the skills learned here create the foundation for a lifetime of learning.

  • Help your puppy develop calm behaviour, confidence, and good habits — from the very beginning.
