• You have a treat in each hand – one boring one (Beeno cookie) and one very high value (chicken, hot dog, cheese).
  • You do not show your dog the hand with the high value stuff but you present the hand with the “boring” treat
  • Your dog will sniff your hand to get to the treat but you won’t give it to him
  • As soon as he gives up to sniff your hand and turns his nose away you say “YES” and give him the good stuff
  • Repeat at least 20 times before moving to the next step
